Angel and Song

I gave my girl a painting.

Saw it on her nightstand last week. I helped with fresh, thickly clean sheets.

We made the bed.

I glanced towards the table next to the breeze of drape.

Said, “Your angel is pretty there.”

She said,

“I know.”

Blessed Assurance, she had the page from a hymnal tucked in a little trinket on her chest of drawers.

So, I painted an angel and put it in her stocking for Christmas, thought,

I remember her loving that song.

“This is my story.

This is my song.”

I told her tonight. I’m afraid of all the things God is doing.

Angels, stories, a book.

And she said, “Just say Thank you, God and

Be happy.”

And I remembered why I call her

My sunshine.

“Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart.”

‭‭Psalms‬ ‭37:4‬ ‭ESV‬‬

“When we walk with the the light of His word, what a glory he sheds on our way…Trust and Obey.”
