Resting Sunlight

Uncategorized, wonder

An afterthought, I guess. image

To take a walk under the dark grey sky when I’d decided already  against walking today.

A short walk and not at all with purpose or cardio.

If the rain came, we’d not have gone so far.

We stopped at each little grassy spot in the cul de sac entrances.

He buried his nose in the bushes while I followed the sun because it was

lighting up the trees.

The rain never threatened.

Still,  slow moving

with intermittent pauses and

catching glimpses of sunlight finding a resting place.

“Don’t force it.” my friend said today

“Just keep moving towards what is you.”

I’m sure the neighbors find me odd. I walk as if the entire neighborhood is mine, like I’m still surrounded by the hundreds of acres of my grandfather’s land. Making the subdivision corn fields, pecan orchards and fishing ponds.
